Great Facilities for Play and Exercise

The lake is a big draw of this park – so big that you might miss the gym! The 34,000 square foot facility in Turner Lake Park features a gymnasium with an indoor track and basketball court, recreation offices, a meeting room that fits 275+ people, and a senior center. If it’s drizzling outside, you still have an inexpensive place to go for a nice walk and some yoga, and the kids can have a pick-up game with their friends. Day passes and yearly memberships are available for individuals, out-of-town guests, and families!

The Great Outdoors, Easy to Reach

Of course, who doesn’t love to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine whenever it’s available? Turner Lake gives your family plenty of space and opportunity to get outside and play the way you all like to. There are playgrounds for the little ones, walking trails for everyone, and even a handicap-accessible fishing pier. No boats are allowed, and swimming isn’t an option either, however for anglers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone who loves to stretch their legs, this park is perfect for a relaxing, restful weekend visit.

And, if there’s a special celebration on the way, you can bring the whole crew to the huge pavilion here! Imagine a family reunion potluck, an outdoor birthday blowout, or a Saturday afternoon cookout with the smell of burgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill – all surrounded by the beautiful nature of Covington.

Friday Night Lights

And the amenities in this park don’t end there! You’ll find a full girls’ softball facility here, and a football/cheerleading field. The four regulation softball diamonds feature a bathroom and concessions building, as well as an elevated scorekeepers press box. Seating is plentiful, and there are even batting cages for warm-ups! The football field also has bathrooms and a scorekeeper’s box.
